To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.7430 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M26.1.26. EAC.7. DAMPED PENDULUM LEVER. We send herewith N.schs. 2124/5 which are alternative arrangements for the damped pendulum lever. The arrangement is Mr. Royce's suggestion and we have carried out his instructions as far as we know, but we have yet to have his final approval, so that it would be unwise to orde forgings or castings for the moment. Of the 2 suggestions shewn, N.sch.2124 is as originally proposed by R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and N.sch.2125 is a suggestion made with the idea of improving the load on the pendulum lever bearing. There is no difference in the casting and very little difference in the forging between the two. We think it is probable that N.sch.2125 will be theone adopted. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
