GRH Ser and Hr. C. Tys. Jun. 1928. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.28.11.36. 25/30 HP. and Wraith II Chassis. We attach a list of the design work completed on the above chassis during the last month, and also particulars of design work in hand. 25/30 HP. Chassis. The only design work of first importance on this chassis is the application of the 4 port cylinder head; the head design itself is completed and issued and the induction system to suit is nearing completion. WRAITH II Chassis. Rear Axle - We have completed designs for using the Phantom III centre casing with Wraith brake gear and hubs, for the first production chassis. This is being followed up with a new centre casing having Wraith proportions instead of Phantom III with a consequent reduction in weight. Further it has hypoid gears of greater offset than Phantom III allowing a lower body floor. Design investigation into the use of a vertical banjo axle has been completed. Dynamo and Water Pump. Design work is in hand to drive the dynamo andwater pump in tandem on one side of the engine. This will delete either one or two timing gears, depending upon which side of the engine it is found possible to carry these auxiliaries, with a consequent reduction in cost and weight. Ignition Distributor & Governor. Designs are nearing completion for an improved ignition governor and distributor. | ||
