To EH. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X 3205 E1/G7.10.18. X.1899 RE PRIMER FOR WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. X.3205 Would you kindly send us, in accordance with Mr. Royce's wishes, an aero engine primer of the latest all-aluminium pattern, together with 5 feet of copper tubing of the correct size, and the standard form of nipple connection and spray jet used on the Eagle induction pipes. The intention is to fix this primer in a temporary way on the Calcott car for trial. The engine on this car has a short elbow induction pipe as shewn in sketch. We propose to drill and tap the top of this elbow, and screw in the nipple connection as far as desired, when it can be secured with solder. We should probably shorten the jet by sawing it off and replugging and drilling it. The clip would be screwed in to such a position that the jet hole looked towards the interior induction pipe of the cylinder block. See original for sketch. Would you also send with this material a suitable drill and tap for forming the hole in the induction elbow. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
