LES.{Ivan A. Leslie} Y151 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/Cgh.{W Clough}18/G.6.10.32. PEREGRINE PETROL TANK. --------------------- It has been pointed out to us that it is not possible to remove the petrol gauge on the rear petrol tank when the body is fitted, without dropping the tank. We have looked into the matter, and find that if the gauge is fitted in such a position that it can be removed from the tank it would be in the way of the luggage grid, also it is difficult to see how the latter could be altered to clear the gauge. Even if it were possible to alter the luggage grid and rear apron, to enable the gauge to be fitted in a position so that it could be removed when the body is on the chassis, the work of removing the apron and the grid would take longer than dropping the tank. In view of the above, we suggest arrangements be made so that the tank can be dropped without any difficulty, and to do this we believe that it is only necessary to make the hole in the nearside rear mudwing large enough, so that the side filler will pass through it.
