X4229 REPORT - HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG6.1.22. CAMSHAFT DRIVE & IGNITION.

With reference to the above report Mr Royce has written elsewhere concerning the development of the battery ignition gear towards better running at high speed.

We send you herewith drawing No. Lec1515 showing a strengthened camshaft/wheel. The web of the gear wheel has been thickened up from .2 to .275 near the hub and the larger lightening holes in the web have been made smaller and moved out to avoid the local effects due to the spokes of the wheel.
At the same time Mr Royce is surprised that the old wheel did not stand up.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
