April 19th, 1932.

Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd.,
Cricklewood Works,
London, N.W.2.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming the visit of our Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West on the 18th inst., we are now arranging to put up the various points raised to our Drawing Office who will reply to you in due course. We confirm that the points raised were as follows :-

(a) Thermometer. The point queried was whether we could allow you to keep to the .814" dimension across the nut flats of the cylinder head unit. Another point was whether we could arrange to coil the tubes ourselves at the Works.

(b) Speedometer spigot flange. The point raised was whether we would agree to increasing the outside diameter of the flange to 3.885" instead of 3.850". This would prevent, we understand, a lot of scrap at your end.

(c) Petrol Gauge. The damping of the needle of the petrol gauge was discussed and we understand that your Mr. Manwaring will be visiting us in the near future with samples of suitably damped petrol gauges for test.

(d) Ammeter. Printing of the ammeter dial was discussed and we will arrange to inform you whether we are in agreement with the new printed dial submitted. In the meantime please carry on with existing arrangement.

If there were any points raised which we have not confirmed in this letter we should be glad if you will kindly let us know as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED.
