X1300 FJ HARDY BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c.c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/HP.7.8.36. Marles Steering. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/JH.31.7.36, the primary cause of this trouble was the omission during erection of one adjusting washer, causing the rocker shaft to locate itself endwise on this projection of the cover. There is however a danger that the tapping hole maybe drilled too deeply in the cover, and as there is plenty of room between the lubricating elbow and the engine crankcase, we suggest that the boss on the cover should be increased in height .050 (that is, towards the crankcase) and the tapping hole retained the same depth from the boss face as now, so giving a little more latitude for error in drilling. Could the detail be altered accordingly. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
