To Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} (FOR DEPOT SHEET). X 201 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW. 25.5.35. A case has occurred on an Experimental Bentley car, which has done a very large mileage under particularly abnormal and strenuous conditions, of a pivot failing, as shown on the attached photograph. We recommend that, as opportunities occur, cars which have done 30,000 miles and over should be examined at this point. In view of this failure, all pivots fitted to new cars are being strengthened up from the present date onwards. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
