FOR GOSHAWK. B.

We are only aware of the production of by Bijur of Lighting & Starting Sets of size suitable for our 40/50 chassis. We do not say that smaller sets are not produced, this we do not know, but we have an idea that smaller Bijur sets, if produced, are not regulated in the same way with the Vibrator Controller. Further, the Bijur sets which we know have always been 6-volt sets except the 12-volt set, comprising dynamo with regulator and starter motor, which were recently sent over to us from U.S.A. having been specially wound for our purpose. As far as we know Bijur do not ordinarily produce 12-volt sets; we are therefore, not in a position to say what Bijur could offer suitable for the Goshawk.

We have an old Bijur list (pre-war) issued by Messrs. Duncan Watson, in which the price of complete Bijur as (6-volt) of size suitable for our 40/50 car is given as £63.10.0, this including dynamo, battery, lighting switch, fuse and distributor board, ammeter, starter motor and switch, pair of head lamps, pair of side lamps, tail lamp, horn all cables and bulbs and acid proof case for battery.

We have had some experience of 6-volt Bijur sets which has been both favourable and unfavourable in some ways. As regards 12-volt sets operating with Vibrator Control, Mr. Bijur himself admitted whilst here that this did
