HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ) (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) X634 R2/M26.2.31. Copy to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 12 CYL. CAR. Mr. Grylls has worked hard, and to the point, in adding up the virtues of 12 cyls. at different angles - 45°, 60°, and 90°. One is surprised that the results vary so quickly with the angle. It shews - (1) that Maybach is the one we ought to get, (2) that our aero engine should be better than the Lion, as we imagined, unless crankcase deflection bad. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
