x3317 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} S/KW. 4th July, 1934. Messrs. Lendrum & Hartman Ltd., Buick House, 26, Albemarle Street, LONDON, W.1. For attention of Mr. Eric Hartman. Dear Sirs, We understand from Mr. Cox of our London Office that you are concerned because you have an enquiry from the Buick Co. of America with regard to the purchase of one of their series '40' cars by Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. The writer recently spent three months in America, during which time he got to know most of the people at the Buick Factory, and in consequence the purchase of one of the earlier models series '40' Buicks was discussed. On the 15th of last month we got in touch with General Motors Export and were told that none of these cars are expected before the Motor Show. We can assure you that we should like to purchase the car through Messrs. Lendrum & Hartman, but our enquiries to date have led us to believe that this was not possible. If it is possible we should like to know the delivery date and the price of the car, delivery being taken by Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. in London. | ||
