SECRET To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 11. Several of the reports comment on the appearance of the cross member on the front of the chassis from the point of view that, whilst doubtless being very strong, to the casual observer has a clumsy and untidy appearance and not quite worthy of RR. 12. Re Bonnet, the two studs on top of the bonnet at the back end for the bonnet to rest on when open should if possible be smaller as at present they look rather ugly. We think they should be as small as possible consistent with their ability to function. In conclusion I should like to make it clear that all are agreed that the all-round improvement is very greatly appreciated but that the points we are deeply concerned about are in relation to the noise, fuss, boom or roar (whichever is the correct description) at speeds of 45 miles per hour and over.
