Many thanks for your kind letter (addressed to BJ.) referring to my notes on the low car.

You will understand that I do not mean that you may not have high seats, but you can have low seats when required. These low seats are particularly desirable in open cars, and any cars likely to be used open for high speeds and for younger people.

Naturally it is much more valuable to have a low floor than anything that can be done to the seats, and here again the floor can be raised if desired, but in the case of ladies and elderly people the higher seats with more vertical backs could be used in a lower position.

Some of the ladies object that the cushions are rather too long, and as any unnecessary length of the cushion handicaps the available space for moving about it would seem that this dimension ought not to be excessive. With my suggested (5"/6" compressed) cushions the body would be improved.

You will understand that I am referring to these matters only so that we chassis builders can give the coach-builders facilities for obtaining any combinations that their customers may require. We do hope however that for our own purchases in the way of trial and speed cars, such as I have seen, that we keep the whole car, floor, seats, and roof as low as we can.

What caused me to examine the seats was the recently purchased stock Barker body that is to run in the next 10,000
