Messrs. Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd.,
Fort Dunlop,
Erdington,
BIRMINGHAM, 24.

For the attention of Mr. H.Chane.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of 4th. inst. and the samples of flexible hose - the one which most nearly approximates to what we should want is No.3, i.e. Small Bore Dust Extractor Hose. Incidentally, sample No.4. seemed to have been omitted since only three samples of hose arrived.

In view of the fact that the dust extractor hose has moulded ends, which you say we are to ignore, we are not quite clear whether if you could supply, say 12 ft. of this hose, we could cut it to length required - would this result in fraying or unravelling of the wire. If so it will be necessary for us to give you the exact length we require when ordering this hose.

We gather that you have not made this type hose in a large bore but think that this presents no difficulty - do you mean for production requirements or as regards experimental lengths.

In any case, will you please let us know the price of 3" diameter (internal) hose of this type per foot length

(a) In production quantities, say 500 ft. per order.

(b) For experimental purpose, say three lengths of 4 ft.
