X.8830. To CJ. from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c.to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S E C R E T. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EVL/M27.9.24. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C.II. SPORTS BODIES. The first one of the first batch of three sports bodies we have asked Barker's to finish in two coats of varnish paint, powder blue, with black wings, and Conelleys leather upholstery, dark blue grey No AN.125. This is for the purpose of its being viewed on the model chassis. We do not know how to finish paint any of these bodies, as they will be mounted on the actual chassis at Derby. At the present therefore there seems no alternative but to finish them in Works grey. This is very unfortunate as it is difficult to judge the true appearance of a car under such circumstances, and if possible we would like to have finished them somewhat as follows :- First { (1) Powder blue, and blue grey upholstery AN.125. three { (2) Primrose yellow, and almost black upholstery - F.362. boat { (3) Polished aluminium and bright red upholstery - No.112. bodies{ Second{ (4) Ailsa grey, and grey upholstery - AN.125. three { (5) Powder blue, and suitable upholstery. semi- { sports{ (6) Egg-sheel white, and very dark green upholstery - F.362. bodies{ (Colours Willet's, upholsteries Conelley's) (All wings to be black). These are merely suggestions and we would be pleased if you could give us your views. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
