SPECTRECodename for Phantom III ROAD SPRINGS.

We should be glad if you would let us know the poundage and the rating of the rear road springs which you consider should be ordered for SpectreCodename for Phantom III. The figures given on the LeC. drawing for the rear end of the chassis gives the following information :-

1.500 negative camber when under load.
8.500 rebound.
4.250 maximum bump.

(Handwritten: The Phantom 102K)

It is not permissible, however, to have 8.500" rebound, as the maximum rebound is 7.625 when the spring and link are in line.

Assuming 1400 lb. springs the rating would be 170 lbs. per inch deflection, whereas on Phantom we have :-

Low rated springs ... 137 lbs. per inch.
Normal type springs ... 170 lbs. per inch.
High rated springs ... 226 lbs. per inch.

We should be glad to have your recommendations as soon as possible, in order that we may prepare detail drawings.
