that the alcohol itself is highly hygroscopic and will pick up and retain water from the atmosphere. You will also find that alcohol blends dissolve practically all the dirt and sediment in the fuel system and wash it through to the carburettor. This may be alright on a new car, but in a car which has been in use for some time, you may suffer considerable inconvenience due to accumulated deposits of various sorts being dissolved into the fuel system.

Finally, I would say that, from the point of view of your work's tests it might be quite safe to use Koolmotor Alcohol blend as supplied to yourselves, but I should be very careful regarding the supplies you pick up from the ordinary road-side pump.

I hope to come up and see you after Whitsun, but I have been abroad fairly continuously during the last month or so and it has been impossible to make a definite appointment. Will you be working immediately after Whit Monday?

Kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,
H C Banks

P.S. If you like to send us a sample of Koolmotor Alcohol blend I'll do a test on it. HCB
