Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge receipt of yours of the 8th inst., with regard to the special flexible tubing and note that taking this lead by way of the shock absorbers is the best position. We note that the length in one case is only 4" and as an inch of this would be taken up at each end where the tube is soldered in to form the connection, we are afraid there would be very little flexibility left in the piece. However, if you would let us have a drawing or a sample of the banjo you use, we will put either a suggestion or a sample before you. We could either cover these flexibles in steel wire braiding, which is heavily tinned and would not rust, or, alternatively, rubber with canvas insertions, but when we make the samples we will let you have an example of each. When sending the drawing of the banjo we should like to see if possible a general arrangement of the part of the axle and chassis where the flex goes, as it may enable us to put forward some suggestion to you. Yours faithfully, BENTON & STONE LTD., Eric Milner. Director. | ||
