| 400b A.F. Gardiner, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, FRANCE. c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}27/JH.18.1.39. 8.B.V. Bentley. Will you please investigate and report upon the foul which exists between the rear spring gaiters and the body brackets. We want to know (1) Upon what portion of the bracket or bolt the foul occurs. (2) It is the same at both sides of the car. (3) Is it a design or manufacturing trouble, i.e. perhaps the bolt is too long. (4) Give sketches and suggest and try reasonable cures, and any other information or suggestions. Martindale made a special heavy gauge shield for the hand brake. This should be retained if satisfactory. Do not fit the new one we sent out. I trust that everything is going satisfactory at Chateauroux and that you will let me know of any trouble that may arise in connection with the general running of the job.
