B.247 Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your favour of the 12th instant and have very carefully noted the tests that you have carried out on the Speedometer No.B.247. We trust that the efficiency of this instrument meets with your requirements and would point out that as we advanced them all about one mile an hour at 60 m.p.h. at an ordinary running temperature on the car they will at no instance indicate slow. We trust that when you go to carry out similar tests on the small instrument which we have made up for your 40/50 same will also show the good results, and we would ask you to bear in mind that this would similarly be advanced one mile at 60 m.p.h. and would in our opinion, never indicate on the slow side unless the temperature of the car exceeded 30º centigrade, that is to say of course, with this advancement.
