X.5310 With reference to our instructions asking for splines for these with driving faces 60° from the radial, Mr. Royce thinks that if these are still unsatisfactory we should cancel alternate splines leaving three equi distant, and thinks that in any case they might have advantages over the six. Further, in the case of all obtuse angle splines as above, we think the driving faces of them should also do the centring of wheel, the circular shaft portion between the splines being slightly clear of the wheel bore by two or three thous. on the dia.
