BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Crossed out) RoFe X.4072 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG5. 8. 20. X.4072 RE EXHAUST SNOUT. We find that if we fix the bolt in the centre of the brazing metal snouts, there is no chance of them opening out under explosions; they are equally strong as the present cast steel snout. With reference to the pressings for the new design of snout, we recommend that we warn the makers of the dies that the slots will come in a different position to what is shown on our drawing. We are having to make up some more of these pressed steel snouts by hand in order to test the different positions of the bars. It will be at least a week before we can let them know definitely what we want. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
