Will you, therefore, please have the necessary pieces detailed and instructed for production on the lines of SCD.730.

The advantages to be gained by this scheme are as follows:-

(1) Reduction in cost - both baffles at present fitted in the top tank can be dispensed with.

(2) Reduction in cost - adoption of the steam valve will enable the same thermometer to be used on Wraith as on Ph.III and B.III, thus saving 2/- per instrument.

(3) Increase in margin of cooling due to raising of boiling point of cooling water.

(4) Reduction of corrosion due to the fact that the amount of air passing in and out of system is minimised.

It may be noted that if any trouble is experienced with the steam valve on Expt. cars between now and the delivery of production chassis, it is a simple matter to remove ball and spring from valve and dispense with the latter without any new parts.
