L300 SECRET To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}2/HP.25.1.35. ---------------------- re SpectreCodename for Phantom III Design Work. -------------------------- We attach herewith, as requested, a list of the more recent designs which have been issued. Might we take this opportunity of reminding you that design work is held up on:- (1) Cylinder head and induction system, pending the results of slow running tests which you promised to carry out some little time back. (2) Exhaust manifolds; pending the result of tests on the experimental sheet metal manifolds, the design of which was issued experimentally on the 15th November (Lec.4184). The modification to the manifolds has for its object a reduction in H.P.loss and was made as the result of your tests. (3) Modifications to bottom half crankcase to overcome loss of oil pressure under various road conditions pending the results of tests you have agreed to do on Lec.4202 - experimental baffle in oil sump - issued experimentally on 16th November. (4) Independent front wheel suspension pending decision as to relative lengths of top and bottom links. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
