X 714 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}10/KW. 27th June, 1934. Messrs. Ferodo Limited, CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH. Dear Mr. Field, Very many thanks for the loan of the brake indicator, which Mr. Hancock is returning to you to-day. We have one criticism of it which might interest you, namely that a series of small jerks will eventually cause it to read over 100%. We found this on a 40/50 when braking with insufficient rear shock dampers. The intermittent accelerations when the axle hit the road finally showed well over 100% even though the average braking was obviously poor. Apart from this we could obtain consistent figures of 85% at low speeds. Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
