4516. Expl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}4/MJ. 10th. February 1931. Messrs. Boulton & Paull, Ltd., Norwich. Dear Sirs, We understand that you carry out a lot of wind tunnel tests. We have a series of car radiators and we wish to obtain sufficient information to determine their relative efficiency. Actually the number of radiators to be tested would be not more than six, and the number of tests would not be very great because we only wish to obtain figures up to an air speed through the matrix of 60 m.p.h. and five points on the curve would be sufficient. Attached is a sketch shewing the overall size of our radiators. Should, however, this be too big for your wind tunnel, we would be prepared to make up models of 1 sq.ft. frontal area. We should be glad to know whether you are in a position to undertake such tests and if so the writer would be prepared to call on you when convenient, to go over the exact figures required, and discuss the question of cost for the tests. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
