Speedometers.

Dear Mr.Nichols,

We have noticed that the speedometer needle on the Graham-Paige supercharged car is particularly steady and almost appears as if it was working in thick oil, the damping being so marked.

We regret that we cannot say this about the A.T.Speedometer whose needle oscillates with very little defined damping. As this Graham-Paige speedometer appears to be obviously a cheaper article than our A.T. speedometer we would like you to investigate its design with a view to improving the A.T. in this respect. Mr.Buckland would no doubt appreciate this point if he tested the Graham speedometer side by side with our standard A.T.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
