---------------

As arranged, the Rapson Company are sending in 5 covers and standard Tubes, and 5 Deflector Tubes, the latter of the same quality as those used in the recent 50,000 miles Trial at Miramas on a MARMON car - copy of report attached.

They claim that the first set of these Tyres on the American car completed 20,000 miles; the second set also 20,000, and the 3rd set was still running untouched when the 50,000 miles was completed; and one set of Deflector Tubes ran throughout the whole 50,000 miles.

The Tyres are being sent in on the understanding that if at the end of, say, 100-200 miles we [word 'confirm' is struck through] the opinion they are either too noisy or their anti-skid qualities appear not up to standard, we have the right to return them, and the matter is ended. If, however, the trial proceeds, and the covers when fitted with [word 'Standard' is struck through, 'Deflector' is written in the margin] Tubes do not give 15,000 miles, then we pay for them on pro rata basis.

The Rapson Company suggest that the full cushioning given by the Deflector Tube adds materially to the comfort of the Tyre. Possibly, therefore, you will commence the trial with Deflector Tubes fitted.
