| Contd. -4- EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T22.6.21. to our curves will show that the torque corresponding to these amperes is from 40 to 44 lb-inches. The corresponding engine torque would be about 480 to 520 lb-inches. Making a 3% allowance for the chain reduction 2 to 1, this torque would be 465 to 505 lb-inches. The corresponding speed, for instance, 12 x 85 = 1020 is rather lower than indicated by the curve, this being due to the fact that the motor terminal voltage during the test was rather lower than scheduled, but this does not affect the above estimation of the torque required to turn the engine.
