Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW. 14th March, 1935. Captain Wilks, The Rover Company Ltd., Coventry. Dear Captain Wilks, Thank you for your letter of March 11th. I should like to come over on March 27th, and am fixing that date provisionally unless in the interval something turns up to prevent either of us being available. I propose to bring my wife's car over and leave it with you, as it will by then have done about 3,000 miles, and can demonstrate the axle noise to you. I have come to the conclusion that it is mostly axle noise, and the reason it is worse when the free wheel is locked is simply because of the increased load on the gears on the over-run. Yours sincerely, | ||
