I do not understand why I have had no reply to my memo. asking what parts of the new engine are likely to fail.

It seems to me that in the Expl: Dept: the spirit, which years ago enabled the Works to turn out a special engine for the 2,000 miles trial of the R.A.C. in a very short time, has been replaced by one which endeavours to lay down that nothing new can be done except over a very prolonged period.
