then increased to .025" and it was found possible to insert an external gap of .100" without irregular sparking at 700 rpm. At 200 rpm with no external gap there was occasional missing only.
Readjusting the contact breaker gap to .018" we removed the double ballast and substituted a single one and again observed the performance.
At 700 rpm it was found possible to insert as much as .360" external gap without irregular sparking; and at 200 rpm .140" external gap was possible without irregularities.
