X6016 NATIONAL ACCUMULATOR COMPANY LIMITED. TELEPHONE: SLOANE 8368. TELEGRAMS: NATIONACCU, SOWEST, LONDON. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: 50, GROSVENOR GARDENS, LONDON, S. W. I. WST 19th December, 1932. Messrs. Rolls-Royce. Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of Mr. West. Dear Sirs, There have been some complaints at our Service Depot about 25 H.P. cars running their batteries down through insufficient charging which has put us to quite a little bit of expense in seeing the owners satisfied. We gather that you know of this situation and do not blame us in any way and that it is nothing to do with the battery and we understand from one of your Officials that you have the matter in hand. One of your agents was speaking to us the other day and they said they had found the same trouble and that they had overcome it by short-circuiting the ballast resistance under the bonnet. They claim that that made a complete cure. We take it that you would hardly like us to do this when cars come in without your official instructions but when we give an owner another battery, he will get into the same trouble unless some change is made. // We are just writing to confirm the position to you as some of the owners seem to think it is the fault of the battery whereas it is not, with which we hope you agree. Yours faithfully, NATIONAL ACCUMULATOR COMPANY LIMITED. G.R.N Minchin | ||
