LONDON, S.W.1.

For the attention of Mr. Brookes.

Dear Mr. Brookes,

I have not as yet got a decision out of the Administration with regard to advertising the Aerolite piston but we are having a discussion on the subject to-morrow, when we may get a definite statement.

As a matter of fact I am not pushing the question too much because there is every prospect of us standardising the Aerolite on the Bentley in the immediate future, and this is so much more important than the race that I am not worrying a great deal about the latter.

I shall be glad if you will bring on Monday all the information I have from time to time given you, and your own conclusions about the various pistons we have run, so that we can make a final decision as to what we ought to standardise and the grinding dimensions to be used. Naturally if we standardise the pistons we have been running we hope that you will not lose interest in the aluminite, but will work with us to get these on the car as soon as possible.

We have not yet stripped Hall's car but shall have it down on Monday. I have examined the bores, they certainly appear to be in perfect condition. The oil consumption too was excellent.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
