X4426 To Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copies to PP. (crossed out) Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} (crossed out) Wox. (crossed out) BJ8/H17.12.21. SHOCK-ABSORBERS FOR 40/50-H.P. CHASSIS. With reference to H's suggestion that Hartford shock-absorbers should be fitted to some cars, to see if they please the owners, I shall be glad if you will let me know how you would suggest dealing with complaints of springing on cars already delivered. It appears that the following method should be adopted as being the most economical:- a) Try to satisfy the customer with changing his thick-leaf springs to other thick-leaf springs. b) If this is impossible, fit Hartford shock-absorbers. c) If neither of the above prove satisfactory, fit thin leaf springs. Those customers who are complaining of their springs would appear to be the best people to try the Hartford shock-absorbers. B.J. [STAMPED TEXT] Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DEC 17 RECE | ||
