X.3.26.-RADIATOR & BONNET RAISED 1" HIGHER THAN STANDARD.

We have one chassis fitted up with this arrangement we consider it does achieve the object it was intended for, The only alteration which can affect the running of the car when we raise the radiator and bonnet is, firstly, that we have to use a new radiator suspension bracket; this is a copy of the present one so that as long as it is run on the bump test there should be no risk of failure. Another point is, although we raise the radiator one inch, it is not proposed to alter the position of the fan. We do not find this makes any difference because the fan still overlaps the radiator matrix top and bottom.

The C.O. are anxious to order up a further batch of material. We recommend that they order material to suit the 1" higher radiator and bonnet. If the worst happens, the material could always be cut down to suit the present standard height of bonnet and dashboard.

The car fitted with the higher bonnet and dashboard (4 E.X.) is at present at Barkers having a covered body fitted. We should be pleased if the Sales Dept. would inspect this car and let us know whether it fulfils their requirements.
