(12) IGNITION SET (CONTD.) -8- EC/G1/5/19. We shall want 500 sets of Lucas material. It is thought that the switch box made by this latter firm can be quite well accommodated on the instrument board. It will be remembered that the cutout for the Lucas lighting set is carried in the switch box so that no attention will now be required for this as a separate part. Instructions have been sent to Mr. Clark to carry out a full test of the Lucas dynamo. On chassis 58 NA{Mr Nadin} the anchorage link for the Lucas dynamo was very inaccessible by reason of the valance on the car which made it very difficult to tighten the dynamo belt. Mr. Royce considers that this point should receive some attention. X (13) PORTABLE LAMP. - Mr. Royce would like some connections to be included in the lighting set for a portable lamp. This lamp would be of the type which has a protecting cage, and a handle round which the flexible is wound when not in use. It might also have a hook, so as to be hung up in the garage or any convenient position where the light was found convenient. It should be quite a simple affair which could be thrown away when spoilt or worn out and easily replaced. The connection on the switchboard can be of the simple plug form, as on the C.A.V. switch box fitted to chassis 7 CA. The idea is that the lamp shall be used when changing wheels on the road at night time, or when working on the car in a garage where no illumination was available. It is not yet decided whether the lamp will be definitely (Contd.) Handwritten note near item 13: X.3532 | ||
