R.R. 235A (500 T) (S.D. 408. 26-4-17.) Bm. 2/156/13. X3732 EH3/LG3.12.19. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EH. c. to CJ. c. to BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ---------- X.2565. RE CAR 1.EX. X.3732. ------ We find that when we have fitted the standard split pistons there is still a tendency for this car to to over-oil. The only difference on this car from the standard cars is the fact that we have a complete annulus in the big end bearing. By reducing the oil pressure 10. lbs., we have made it so that it is quite reliable, especially as we are using the porcelain plugs. The fact of the car over-oiling fitted with standard split pistons, makes it more hopeful and we shall get the plunger pistons to work satisfactorily. X.3439. Since we have had 1.EX at the Works, we have also fitted the new Clutch Trunnion which gives better movement on the Clutch Pedal Mechanism. X.3714. We have also fitted the scheme of high tension wires through the wooden case. X.3565. The new arrangement for fixing the thermometer into the water pipe is on this cat but is not complete. There is a D.O. error on therosette and we have not yet received any Thermometers. with the connection at the back. EH. | ||
