EXPERIMENTAL REPORT.

Expl. No.

REF HsS/LG1.12.25.

but it is one of the biggest factors we have proved. Clutch jaggers occur with the latest lightened clutch in which the springs are fitted at the back of the plate. We are trying different materials to see whether we can reduce the trouble. We are also trying new clutch plate driving through the Ferodo disc.

Exhaust.

The exhaust noise will be overcome with the new silencer. The popping in the exhaust will be considerably reduced by the new silencer. At the moment we have no solution for the squeak in the butterfly valve.

Steering.

Wobble investigations are going on, when road conditions permit. Road shocks - these will be reduced by the new steering.

Timing gears.

This is a production trouble.

Springing hard.

This appears to be due to wrong instructions being given as regards the loads to be carried.

Governor control squeaking.

The later cars are fitted with ball bearings on the governor control which we will definitely reduce this.

Poor acceleration at slow speeds.

We consider this is due to faulty adjustment of the carburetter.
