To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} +8520 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M4.3.26. RR. HYDRAULIC SHOCK DAMPERS. X.235 X.8520 We send herewith N.sch.2153. This shews some suggestions which we have sent to R.{Sir Henry Royce} for the object of reducing the leakage of oil through the rocker shaft. We have also included on the drawing some of R's most recent suggestions - (1) Improved escape for the air from the high pressure valve chamber. (2) Improved filter in the bottom of the reservoir. The suggestions for lengthening the rocker arm and reducing the bore of the shock damper will have to be approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and we suggest that you should not do anything with this, but should take off N.sch.2153 all the points except these proportions, and apply them to the existing shock damper. R's other suggestions regarding the filter, method of filling etc., we shall send you on another drawing immediately. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
