Copy of letter received from:- MESSRS. THE ZENITH CARBURETTERS LTD. 40-42 NEWMAN STREET LONDON W.1. Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited. DERBY. 28th December 1926 Dear Sirs, Ref. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/AW2/N.241226. We are in receipt of your letter of the 24th but are sorry we cannot quite understand your remarks. The filter we supplied against your order number 61179 was not of the gauze type but of a new system of plates. Therefore, we cannot understand why you refer to having supplied a gauze filter, and wonder whether there is a little misunderstanding on your side. If however, you have the plate type filter in mind, we cannot understand either your saying that this chokes up. The capacity of the filter under quite a small head of a few inches is sufficient to feed a 100 h.p. engine, and we should have thought this would have been sufficiently large factor of safety. We have had this filter running continually for thousands of miles on several cars and there has never been the slightest sign of any corrosion or choking. Would you therefore kindly explain a little more fully just what happens in the case of the filter sent you because we can hardly credit that if it corrodes or readily chokes up. We await your reply with interest, and meanwhile remain. Yours faithfully, THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO LTD T.L. TURNER. TLT/B | ||
