To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X3730 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG6.3.23. 20 HP. HOT FLOOR BOARDS. X3730 X819 It is difficult to appreciate your complaint of hot floor boards on the 20 HP., especially your remarks that it is objectionable even compared with the 40/50 H.P. We maintain that the 20 HP. is infinitely better than the 40/50 car. At the present time we have a 40/50 car fitted with a Saloon body and a 20 HP. car fitted with a Saloon body. It is only necessary to run these cars a few miles even in the present cold weather to notice the tremendous improvement in the 20 HP. compared with the 40/50 H.P. In the south of France last year with the weather quite hot, there was no objectionable heat from the floor- boards. With the number of 20.HP. cars running last summer, we only had one complaint with regard to hot floorboards. The Amateurs car which ran 10,000 miles in the summer (fitted with a Saloon body which is the worst type for showing up the heat) there was not a single complaint of this. We agree that all bodies should be fitted with ventilators to the scuttle. With regard to any further improvements, it is going to be very difficult because we do not possess a car on which we can appreciate this complaint. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
