BRAKE LINKAGE. X.9940.

Referring to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL1/LG19.5.24., we agree
that it is necessary to experiment to get the exact
suitable ratio of braking between front and back, and
we suggest that this should be gone into at first
opportunity rather carefully, and a good proportion
evolved before any alteration is made to the proport-
ions of the balancing lever.

It seems likely that there will be two dis-
tributions of braking, one suitable for closed, and the
other for open cars, but Mr. Royce now proposes to still
further reduce the braking on the front to overcome the
twisting of the axle, and consequently the figures we
have given you will require still further modification.
