JA M {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /C23413. 22-4-13. Mr. Royce. BELT TESTS. X196. It is proposed to carry out these tests on the large bed plate in the Test Shop. Dynamo Belt Test. A 6 HP motor is mounted on a C.I. plate which has a tongue to fit in the T. slot in the bed plate. A small fixed countershaft running in Swivel Ball Bearings is driven by the motor through a two inch belt. To run the countershaft at 400 or 1600 revs. two coned pulleys are employed. Various sizes of driving pulleys are keyed on the counter-shaft and located endways by a Allen Safety Set Screw, so that any size pulley can be lined up with Dynamo Pulley. The Dynamo is mounted on another C.I. plate of box section which slides in a groove in the bed plate. Fan Belt Test. This is similar to Dynamo Belt Test, but if a standard fan is to be used, it will be necessary to make the driving pulleys on the countershaft singly, otherwise the blades will foul. | ||
