Dear Mr. Hall, Regarding the petrol tank, I confirm telegram sent you to-day reading as follows:- "FEAR IMPOSSIBLE FIT PETROL TANK THIS WEEK WRITING" The Works say that whilst they would like to do all they can to help Mr. Hiddington, there is not the least possibility of having the tank completed this month. In fact, they say it is going to be a struggle to get it by the second week in August, as the drawings were only available just prior to the Works closing for annual holiday. They seem to think that the only way of dealing with the matter is for the tank to be fitted when the cylinder head is finally changed prior to the car going to Ireland. I understand that the head has to be changed as the R.A.C. will not let us run with the same valves as fitted for Le Mans. Yours sincerely, (Sgd.) A.F. Sidgreaves (A.F. Sidgreaves) | ||
