Dear Sirs, We beg to thank you for your letter of the 28th ultimo together with drawings of thermostat layouts. We have been delaying our reply hoping to have more definite information to give you regarding the Car Heater parts which we have in hand. Car Heaters. As you are aware, two of these motors are having to be specially wound as the specification called for is not in accordance with our present practice. All three motors had been promised for today, but are not yet to hand. We are, however, expecting to be able to dispatch to you all these parts early next week, probably Tuesday. One matter has cropped up with regard to our standard Heater case, and that is that recent tests have proved to us that our deflecting louvres, while doing the job we required in putting the air flow where we wanted it, has in actual practice had the effect of reducing the total air flow to such an extent as to seriously reduce the efficiency of the Heater. Actual road tests have proved quite definitely that the removal of this front entirely has given an increased air flow of nearly 40%, and, curiously enough, with the increased air flow the absolute temperature of the air coming from the Heater has been up by about 8°F.{Mr Friese} This we put down to the increased scavenging effect through the block.
