X3914 . x4473 In reply to your EFC2/T241028: (1) We have done the best we can with the space and arrangement of pipes. (2) There is no need for metal tubes for magneto ignition; better without we think (i.e. for slow speed firing.) (3) We do not suggest cancelling metal tubes for battery ignition because the potential can go so very high at low speeds and suffer from mutual induction. (4) Vulcanite tubes are quite out-of-date. Bakelite or some more heat-proof material should be used. (5) If we experience some trouble for trials cars we can probably screen against the heat. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
