Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smyth9/KW.12.2.35. [Signature] re SpectreCodename for Phantom III Roller Tappets. We send you herewith:- Lec.4383 showing roller tappets fitted to the present camshaft. We think there is sufficient material in the cast iron tappet blocks to fit these tappets without any further modifications. This point should be ascertained. The bridge pieces require to be machined slightly wider at the fork. We want some new tappet springs because they are bigger in diameter and shorter in length. The camshaft bearings are unchanged. For a preliminary trial the present camshaft can be used exactly as it stands. At a later date the width of the cams may be used and the cam forms altered to suit the .9 diameter roller. The effect of a .9 follower with the present cam forms is being investigated. Lec.4383 herewith. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
