When we have got the cost where we want it, however, it may be necessary to endeavour to reduce weight even if it means added expense, if the performance of the car is to justify its price. Alternatively it may be decided that the sports market is not profitable, in which case the character of the Bentley might be changed and acceleration subordinated to cost and comfort.
