Referring to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/MJ 24930., I am very pleased to hear that you agree with the square tube radiator.

This has been suggested a long time and the progress has been very slow, with some misunderstanding.

To summarise the situation you have now this radiator with freer air passages, water passages, and greater cooling surface, and should be made of the thinnest possible copper tubes that it is practical to get made, used, and built up, with sufficient strength.

You have also the horizontal louvres, the greater gap under the dashboard owing to the absence of vertical steering, radiator shutters with less friction, slightly less friction in the thermostat, the water delivery exit improved, and the valve to avoid the spilling of water. The combination of these improvements should get this matter at rest so that we can give our attention to something else.

I fear however that it will take a life time to get these made, tested, approved, standardised, produced, and in the hands of the customers, and I want everyone concerned to see that there is nothing put in the way of the best combination of these improvements getting into the customer's hands without unnecessary delay of excessive stock, etc.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
